Obama's Color: GREEN
Some things in life aren't exactly right but they are easy. For example, it's easy just to watch campaign commercials and listen to barstool conversations about the presidential election and assume that you know the essential facts about a certain candidate. But when it comes down to certain policies, especially those that affect our planet, it's good to know more than the minimum. Inspired by Barack Obama's appearance on Hollywood Green, I felt we should all know some basics about his green beliefs.
Carbon Emissions: Obama plans to reduce carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050. He also plans on developing incentives that reward those ranchers, farmers, and forest owners when they do things that help capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere…like plant trees.
Cleaner energy: Obama is a believer in clean energy. He believes in investing in research, bio-fuels, renewable energy, cleaner coal, and a whole lot more. He understands that clean energy is a must and is equipped with a game plan of how to make it come to pass.
Oil Independnece: Obama plans on reducing America's oil consumption by 35 percent.
And there's a lot more where all of this came from. Barack Obama has carefully researched his green issues and is ready to face the multiple related challenges head-on. His track record backs up his devotion to the cause and his perspective is fresh and exciting. Perhaps with a change in leadership, we can really do our part to save this planet before we destroy it?
